Mental Health (part I)

Mental Health (part I)

Written by: Warda Kainat

How do you define mental illness? Is it a disease or a phase? We all go through the tough times in our lives. Life is neither a bed of roses nor of dregs. It is how you perceive it.

Everyone has fears!!! And how we typically deal it? We Feed it! By overthinking, by losing hope and by not putting efforts. Life is a set of variables, every moment life changes and if you behave like a constant then there is no purpose of living it.

You cannot refrain yourself of having bad thoughts about yourself. Even the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) had been in this phase, and then Allah blessed him with Al – Duha.

“By the morning brightness. And [by] the night when it covers with darkness. Your Lord has not taken leave of you. [O Muhammad] nor has He detested [you]. And the hereafter is better for you than the first life. And your Lord is going to give you and you will be satisfied. Did He not find you orphan and give [you] refuge? And He found you lost and guided [you]”

Give yourself a break. Stop beating yourself up! Everyone makes mistakes, has set backs and failures. You don't come with a book on how to get it right all the time. You will fail sometimes, not because you planned to, but simply because you're a human. Failure is a part of creating a great life.
